Biography

Tyler Loftus hails from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area of Pennsylvania and brings a wealth of experience in both athletics and sports management to Hoosac School. A former student-athlete, Tyler played baseball and ice hockey at Pittston Area High School, youth ice hockey for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, and continued his athletic journey playing baseball at Penn State Wilkes-Barre at the collegiate level.

Tyler joins Hoosac after many years of successfully managing a local ice rink in Pittston, PA, where he honed his leadership and organizational skills. His dedication to the sport of ice hockey extends beyond management, as he has over 15 years of experience as an on-ice official. Tyler is the Director of Special Events for the Atlantic Youth Hockey League, a role in which he dedicates significant time to developing young athletes and helping them advance to the next level.

Tyler’s officiating career is extensive, having refereed in leagues such as USA Hockey, the ECHL, FPHL, SPHL, and NCHC (NCAA DI). Currently, he officiates at the NCAA DI level for the ECAC, NCAA DIII, and the American Hockey League.

In his role as Associate Athletic Director at Hoosac, Tyler draws on his diverse experiences as a student-athlete, sports manager, and referee. His background in competitive sports and event management equips him with the insight and skills necessary to support and enhance the athletic programs at Hoosac. Tyler is committed to fostering a positive and dynamic athletic environment where student-athletes can thrive and achieve their full potential.
