Tyler Loftus, a native of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area of Pennsylvania, brings extensive experience in athletic administration, sports management, event operations, and ice hockey to his role as Associate Athletic Director at Hoosac School. A lifelong athlete and sports professional, Mr. Loftus has built his career around supporting athletic programs, managing sporting events, and creating positive experiences for student-athletes.

A former multi-sport student-athlete, Mr. Loftus competed in baseball and ice hockey at Pittston Area High School, played youth hockey for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, and continued his baseball career at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Prior to joining Hoosac, he spent several years managing an ice rink in Pittston, Pennsylvania, gaining extensive experience in facility operations, scheduling, event management, and program coordination.

Mr. Loftus has remained deeply involved in ice hockey throughout his professional career. He serves as Director of Special Events for the Atlantic Youth Hockey League and has more than 20 years of experience as an on-ice official. Throughout his officiating career, he has worked across youth, collegiate, minor professional, and professional hockey, including USA Hockey, the ECHL, FPHL, SPHL, and NCAA Division I. He currently officiates NCAA Division I hockey through the ECAC, NCAA Division III hockey, and professionally in the American Hockey League (AHL).

As Associate Athletic Director, Mr. Loftus helps oversee the day-to-day operations of Hoosac Athletics, including scheduling, transportation, facilities, game-day operations, and coordination among the school’s athletic teams and coaching staff. He also serves as Director of Golf and has played an integral role in the establishment and continued development of Hoosac’s golf program.

Since joining Hoosac, Mr. Loftus has helped lead continued growth throughout the school’s athletic department. Under his leadership, Hoosac Athletics has seen improvements to its athletic facilities and operations, continued competitive success across its programs, and a growing sense of school spirit and camaraderie surrounding athletics. Mr. Loftus is passionate about creating an athletic culture that extends beyond competition by bringing together student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and the broader Hoosac community.

Outside of athletics, Mr. Loftus is an active member of Hoosac’s residential community. Students can often find him outside Towne Hall grilling or cooking, frequently accompanied by Mrs. Rango-Loftus, and their two dogs, Blue and Tucker. In his free time, he enjoys sports, staying active, traveling, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and, unsurprisingly, officiating ice hockey. Whether at an athletic event, around campus, or behind the grill, Mr. Loftus enjoys being involved in the Hoosac community and building meaningful relationships with students.

Mr. Loftus is committed to continuing the growth of Hoosac Athletics while fostering an organized, competitive, and supportive environment in which student-athletes and coaches have the resources necessary to succeed. His diverse background as an athlete, administrator, event manager, and official provides him with a comprehensive understanding of athletics and a strong commitment to the continued success of Hoosac’s programs and community.
