Student Travel Plans

Welcome to the Hoosac School Travels Plans Webpage. Departure from campus has set starting times for shuttles, please pay special attention to those times when booking travel arrangements. We ask students to limit their luggage to one large suitcase or two small suitcases due to space available on the buses. 

**Each break will have a submission deadline for the travel plans of the student. That deadline allows for the shuttles to be scheduled. It is imperative to submit the travel form on the school website by the deadline for proper planning and smooth travel for the students. 

**All travel on the dates listed for each break is free of charge when the student is transported to Albany Airport, Albany Train Station or Albany Bus Station. 

**All travel not listed on the dates above will be considered a private ride and there will be a fee of $100.00 due to the driver if the student is being transported to Albany Airport, Albany Train Station or Albany Bus Station.

**All JFK Airport travel has a fee of $1,000.00 for each shuttle. A personal ride to JFK Airport will have a minimum fee of $800.00 due to the driver. For large groups to JFK Airport, each shuttle sent to JFK Airport will be added together and split amongst the students either dropped off or picked up. The fee due is subject to change and will vary due to gas prices, parking fees, etc. 

**Travel to Albany locations is 45-60 minutes. Travel to JFK Airport is a minimum 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours with no traffic. For flights specifically, please plan accordingly for travel time to the airport and to get through security.

**A followup email will be sent to all student email addresses once a travel form has been submitted for each break. If the student does not confirm travel, the student’s ride may be canceled. 

**Below you will find three forms, an arrival travel form, a departure travel form and a campus stay form. Families are given the option to arrange their own transportation such as a personal car service, Premiere Transportation (Albany), or Uber, or they may opt to use the services provided by Hoosac School at charge. Travel forms must be submitted at least two weeks in advance as well as payment for Hoosac School transportation services. 

The cost to remain on campus during Long Weekends and Thanksgiving Vacation is $75 per day. There is no exemption to this fee.
