Naviance is a web-based college and career readiness platform that helps connect academic achievement to post-secondary goals. Its comprehensive college and career planning solutions optimize each student’s college search process. All Hoosac students and student families are assigned a dedicated login to the Naviance portal.
In addition, all VIth formers regularly participate in class, small group and individual sessions with our College Counselors as well as visiting professionals from colleges and universities to guide them in managing the application process, formulating application strategies, producing personal timelines and writing the application essay, as well as all aspects of financial aid and NCAA eligibility. Group sessions also help them with all aspects of standardized test preparation (SAT, ACT and TOEFL). From the very beginning of the school year, our counselors meet individually and in groups with the Vth and VIth Forms to begin the college application process.
College Acceptances
Each year is one galvanized by a renewed focus on adapting to current admissions trends, while staying true to our college counseling mission to provide a student-centered and match-driven college counseling experience for every Hoosac student.
With over 380 applications to over 210 schools, our VIth form class and PG’s have had a busy and robust college application season and are now reaping the rewards of their hard work, celebrating acceptances now coming in with more anticipated in the following weeks. Some notable acceptances over the last few academic years include Cornell, Dartmouth, Columbia, NYU, Penn State, UMASS, Purdue, Union College, Lehigh University, and RPI to name a few! Congratulations to our VIth Formers and PG’s as they approach the next chapter of their educational careers!
