Master Sculptor to Conduct Molten Bronze Pour for 3D Art Students

November 11th, 2021

Director of Art Studies, Mr. Spencer Sussman, has arranged for his 3D art students to watch a live bronze pour demonstration by Glen Campbell, a master sculptor and the founder of Campbell Plaster & Iron. Mr. Campbell will be pouring molten bronze into an investment mold called a chell at approximately 1500-2100 degrees!

Hoosac students created the original wax sculptures which are being cast in what is called "Lost Wax Bronze Casting". The molten bronze pour will take place Tuesday, November 16th, at the fire pitt on campus. Mr. Campbell will be setting up around 1:15pm and the whole process will take about 1.5 hours.
