Boys Varsity Hockey & Basketball Each Earn Victories Over Top Opponents
February 25th, 2020
Hoosac School AAA basketball set another school record this weekend. After playing and unfortunately coming up short against both the national and prep champions from last year, Brewster Academy and Northfield Mount Hermon, the boys needed to figure out a way to win. On Saturday against Vision Academy they did it in the simplest way possible, they scored a ton of points! 120 to be exact, setting a Hoosac School record for most points scored in a game. Some may say it must have been an easy game, but this was no rout or easy victory by any means as their opponent scored 100 in the loss. Way to go Owls! Fly high!
Boys hockey also came up big with some end of season excitement. The Owls traveled down the road to play Worcester Academy in Massachusetts and were expecting a dog fight, which is exactly what they got. The two teams battled back and forth in an evenly matched game, but when the final buzzer sounded Hoosac had secured a one to zero victory on Worcester Academy's senior night. Hats off to them for a great game! The lone goal was scored by Hoosac VIth Former Manny Cabral '20 which ultimately sealed the victory. Hoosac netminder Kevin Chandler '20 did his part by steering aside all shots to notch a clean sheet for the win. Great job boys, onto Vermont Academy next!
