Playing elite soccer at Hoosac School means being part of a rich athletic tradition that the school has developed over many years.
Hoosac has a rich tradition in New England soccer, having established our program over 50 years ago. Today, the Owls are recognized for providing a truly multicultural soccer experience. Our Elite team competes in the Prep Premier League (PPL) and regularly faces top NEPSAC programs, as well as youth clubs representing the MLS Youth League, USYSA, and US Club Soccer.
Our Philosophy: Our soccer program is designed to immerse players in an environment that emphasizes technical and tactical development, peak physical fitness and nutrition, and athlete-specific psychological training. At the core of our approach is a commitment to individualized growth, ensuring every player reaches their full potential both on and off the field.
Player Evaluation and Performance Monitoring: Hoosac takes a scientific, data-driven approach to player development, combining advanced physical assessments, high-performance technology, and professional analysis.
Comprehensive Physical Assessments: Our dedicated physiologist conducts detailed evaluations to optimize each player’s physical development, including:
Bioimpedance Scan: Measuring body composition and cellular health
Dynamometry: Assessing muscle strength
Jump Tests: Evaluating explosive power
Skinfold Measurements: Determining body fat and composition
Mobility and Stability Testing: Ensuring joint health and injury prevention
Power and Speed Evaluation: Tracking acceleration and high-intensity performance
Upper and Lower Limb Strength Testing: Focused on soccer-specific demands
Flegner Muscle Fiber Type Prediction Test: Identifying muscle composition for personalized training
Advanced GPS Tracking: During practices and games, players are monitored using a high-precision GPS system managed by our Soccer Health and Performance Department. This technology captures:
Total distance covered and intensity of effort
Maximum speeds and number of sprints over 25 km/h
Movement distribution across speed zones, emphasizing high-intensity performance
Neuromuscular load, indicating muscle impact and workload
Cardiorespiratory and metabolic load, reflecting overall exertion
Performance progression charts with continuous individual and team feedback

Professional Match Analysis: Our match analysis is conducted by a dedicated professional analyst who works alongside our coaching staff to provide objective, data-driven evaluations of team and individual performance. Using advanced video and performance tools, he delivers:
Tactical analysis aligned with our game model
Positional and role-specific breakdowns
Identification of strengths, weaknesses, and decision-making patterns
Data-supported insights for technical and tactical development
These evaluations are used to create personalized development plans, ensuring every player receives targeted guidance that supports their long-term growth and the team’s tactical objectives.
Player Background & Global Representation: Hoosac proudly develops players who have competed at the highest youth levels worldwide. Our athletes have represented top European clubs such as S.S. Lazio, Liverpool FC, Sevilla FC, and Cádiz C.F. Others have competed in top domestic leagues and national team systems in their home countries.
Our players come from some of the world’s strongest soccer cultures, including Italy, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, El Salvador, Jamaica, Canada, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Guatemala, Bermuda, Nigeria, the Dominican Republic, South Korea, Russia, and Serbia.
College Placement Success: Nearly every student who wished to play collegiate soccer during the last two school years has achieved that goal. Our players have recently committed to programs across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, with additional placements at Junior College and NAIA programs. Recent commitments include:
