Girls Varsity Basketball

Playing girls AA basketball at Hoosac School means being part of a rich athletic tradition that the school has developed over many years.

Head Coach Julie McBride has a long and distinguished basketball career. She graduated Syracuse University as the school’s all-time leader in points, assists, scoring average, three pointers made, free throws made and minutes played. She was a three-time All-Big East selection.

Coach McBride is a Syracause University top ten all-time athlete, and the only female to make the prestigious list. She played professionally for over 15 years and even signed a contract with the Chicago Sky of the WNBA. She was a top scorer on every team she played for in Europe, and has represented Team Poland on the national stage. 

Her most recent success was as an Assistant Coach for the Albany Patroons of the TBL. The team finished as both Conference Champions and East Regional Champions. 

All of the girls are excited and so is Coach McBride as Hoosac looks to build off last year's inaugural season in NEPSAC AA, the best girls high school basketball league in the country.

Coach McBride has her Masters in Coaching & Athletic Administration along with a Bachelors in Child Family Studies from Syracuse University. Keep an eye out as we post more about the girls, the team and the upcoming season soon!
